The program requires students to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher to show proficiency in coursework. Students must develop teamwork skills, create research or creative projects, and demonstrate strong written and oral communication abilities. Additionally, students should understand the social, professional, and ethical dimensions of their field.
Doctoral candidates are urged to present their work at key conferences like the Annual Graduate Education and Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism or the International Textiles and Apparel Association Annual Meeting before completing their degree. Publishing at least one academic paper prior to graduation is also highly recommended for Ph.D. students.
