The History department provides both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs in History, along with a Master of Arts in History and a Ph.D. specializing in Rural, Agricultural, Technological, and Environmental History. Numerous history students choose to complement their studies with a minor in another field, a dual major, or certification for secondary education.
Students can enroll in introductory survey courses (2000-level) during their first two years, which serve either as general education requirements or as foundations for higher-level history courses and other subjects. Beyond these introductory classes, the department provides specialized upper-level undergraduate courses covering European, Asian, African, Latin American, and U.S. history, as well as technology, science, agriculture, and various thematic subjects.
