Overseen by the Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management. This program culminates in a Bachelor of Science degree.
Total credits needed: 123, with at least 18 credits in AMD courses taken at Iowa State University (12 of these credits must be at the 3000-4000 level). The apparel, merchandising, and design major offers a comprehensive curriculum with adaptable program choices. Students take courses in general education and the apparel industry professional core. To graduate, students choose a primary focus area: design, product development and innovation, merchandising and retail analytics, or fashion communication.
Available minors and certificates in apparel, merchandising, and design include: (a) textile science and product performance or (b) a textile design minor offered jointly with the College of Design, plus a merchandising certificate.
