Begin a life-changing, service-oriented path by pursuing occupational therapy at Indiana's inaugural and most established accredited program.
As an essential healthcare field, occupational therapy helps people of every age improve their quality of life by overcoming health limitations and excelling in everyday tasks. At IU Indianapolis, you'll gain expertise in evaluating client requirements, creating treatment plans, and supporting those with physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional difficulties.
We provide two educational tracks: one for future occupational therapists and another for professionals seeking career advancement. Both pathways train you to enhance independent living and make meaningful differences in people's lives.
Through our 36-month, campus-based Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program, students receive instruction from faculty and globally recognized experts, mastering occupational therapy principles, theories, and applications in both classroom and clinical environments. You'll start creating positive change during your studies by working with clients at community clinics and nonprofit organizations. Our cutting-edge facilities will support your learning, and upon graduation, you'll be ready to pass the national certification exam with confidence.
You should have a baccalaureate degree (there is no preference in what the degree is as long as the prerequisite courses are completed) from a regionally accredited institution.
All non-native speakers of English must also submit proof of English proficiency unless the applicant has a Bachelor's degree or higher from the US or a predominantly English-speaking country.
