The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) program equips students for professional roles in designing, developing, and operating electronic systems and components, including embedded systems, control and robotics, communications, digital signal processing, and energy systems. This four-year, 124-credit curriculum provides a comprehensive foundation in electrical engineering. Students learn to design, develop, and oversee processes, systems, and components in areas such as communication and signal processing, power systems, control and robotics, manufacturing, and microelectronics.
Graduates from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering emerge with strong technical skills and practical hands-on experience. They commonly pursue careers as chief, design, development, experimental, instrumentation, project, and test engineers. Additionally, they engage in product design and prototyping and are equipped for leadership roles.
The program offers numerous opportunities for students to engage in innovative hands-on activities, including independent study, internships, cooperative education, and undergraduate research.
The Bachelor's degree culminates in a two-semester Senior Design course sequence, where student teams apply their engineering expertise to real-world projects, often proposed by industry professionals.
Students must have earned a diploma from an accredited high school before you enroll at IUPUI.
