The ceramics program covers functional, sculptural, and installation-based artistic methods.
At IUP, the ceramics focus prioritizes each student's creative development and personal artistic path. The program encourages exploring materials while building technical skills, conceptual thinking, and aesthetic refinement.
Housed in the newly upgraded Robertshaw Building, the ceramics studio provides a secure, adaptable workspace. It features dedicated areas for kilns, hand-building, wheel throwing, clay preparation, glazing, plaster work, and graduate studios. Firing options include electric, gas, raku, wood, and soda kilns.

Qualification Requirements
All international students must have their official transcripts from non-US universities reviewed by an external educational credential evaluation organization, such as World Education Services or another member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services foreign educational credential evaluation services. Candidates must submit course-by-course evaluations of their degree(s).
International students must send official transcripts directly to the educational credential evaluation organization for review. This evaluation process can take three to six weeks, and costs associated with the evaluation are the student's responsibility. IUP cannot forward official transcripts to educational credential evaluation organizations.
