The Bachelor of Science in Nursing, LPN pathway is a specialized degree option tailored for licensed practical nurses who have graduated from accredited practical nursing programs.
This LPN-focused curriculum offers an adapted course structure that recognizes previous education and training from practical nursing programs. The program aims to equip practical nurses with the skills needed to serve as healthcare providers, care designers, care managers, and care coordinators across diverse medical environments.
Participants fulfill 43 credits in liberal arts education, covering sciences, social sciences, mathematics, and other general studies. Additionally, they complete 51 nursing credits, with exemptions from introductory sophomore-level nursing courses. Students may also opt to challenge courses like Adult Health I, Pediatric Care, and Maternal Health theory/clinical components through testing, instead completing a one-credit nursing internship.
The program features a Transition to Professional Nursing course, specifically created to help students shift from their LPN role to becoming baccalaureate-prepared nurses.
