The honors program is designed to enhance the academic experience for exceptional psychology students.
For those contemplating graduate studies, the program offers multiple benefits. The intimate seminar-style classes give students a taste of graduate-level coursework.
Through independent research projects, students refine their investigative skills while demonstrating to graduate admissions committees their capability for advanced scholarly work.
Even without graduate school aspirations, participants gain valuable opportunities to collaborate closely with professors and peers on shared academic interests. Honors graduates receive special recognition during departmental commencement ceremonies, with their achievement permanently recorded on academic transcripts.
The program structure includes two honors seminars and two semesters of independent research. Typically, students take their first seminar in junior year's initial semester and the second during senior year's final term. Research projects are conducted in the junior year's second semester and senior year's first semester.
