The geography honors program admits majors with departmental approval who maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA across all university courses and a 3.25 GPA specifically in geography classes. Eligible students receive invitations to enroll in the Geography Honors Track upon reaching 57 completed credits.
Participants take CHSS 489 (a cross-disciplinary seminar focused on analytical thinking, group discussions, literature review, and academic writing around selected themes), GEOG 483 Honors Thesis, and HNRC 499 Honors Senior Synthesis - which satisfies the Liberal Studies Synthesis requirement. A 3.0 GPA must be sustained throughout the program.
