At Indiana University, geographers specializing in Food and Agriculture research examine farming choices, food policies, consumer preferences, hunger issues, food system management, and culinary traditions. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, our Food and Agriculture program aims to deepen knowledge about food production and consumption patterns, the workings of worldwide food networks, and ways to create fairer, more sustainable food systems. Graduates from this program find careers with private companies, nonprofits, and government agencies at various levels, while some pursue advanced degrees. Beyond classroom learning, students benefit from collaborative research opportunities and specialized study courses with faculty in their chosen fields.
