The Bachelor of Arts program in African American and African Diaspora Studies explores the global experiences of individuals with African heritage. This humanities discipline, rooted in democratic principles, challenges misconceptions and confronts racist ideologies in American society. AAADS students engage with diverse cultural expressions including visual arts, literature, cinema, folk traditions, performing arts, historical narratives, social structures, and identity formation. The curriculum emphasizes essential liberal arts competencies such as analytical reasoning, hands-on learning, creative composition, thoughtful critique, ethical decision-making, community involvement, cross-cultural understanding, and advocacy for social equity. Students can pursue combined majors with English, history, religious studies, or sociology. AAADS alumni have established rewarding careers across multiple sectors including education, performing arts, legal fields, STEM industries, media, public service, nonprofit leadership, healthcare, finance, and technology.
Applicant must have completed a diploma from an accredited high school (or must have completed the Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma)
Applicant must have TOEFL score of 79 on internet-based test, 550 on paper-based test, IELTS score of 6.5 and PTE score of 53.
