ISU's graduate photography program offers adaptable options for diverse visual styles and technical methods. Students are pushed beyond familiar boundaries to discover new artistic directions they might not have explored during their undergraduate studies. Throughout the program, they'll investigate multiple creative avenues, ultimately developing a distinctive portfolio. The photography facilities in Fairbanks Hall span 2,500 square feet, including individual or shared studio spaces. A professional-grade black and white darkroom comes fully equipped to handle different photographic formats, with large format cameras among the available tools. Graduate students also have access to high-end digital printing capabilities, a dedicated shooting studio, and specialized equipment for historical and alternative photographic techniques.
