The Master of Education in School Counseling program combines online learning with mandatory monthly on-campus Saturday sessions during Spring and Fall terms. This hybrid format welcomes both domestic and international students who meet admission criteria. Indiana State University's School Counseling MEd provides a learner-focused, well-rounded curriculum. Beyond classroom instruction, you'll obtain practical experience in K-12 environments starting from your first graduate semester.
Guided by faculty and on-site mentors, you'll develop a two-year partnership with either an elementary, middle, or high school. This integration of academic learning and practical application equips you with essential theoretical knowledge, analytical abilities, and problem-solving competencies for a successful counseling career.
The 60-credit School Counseling MEd requires completion of 760 field experience hours.
Participants maintain a two-year practicum commitment with a selected K-12 institution.
Full-time students can finish the program in two years by adhering to the advised course sequence, though flexible scheduling options are available. All program requirements must be fulfilled within a seven-year timeframe.
