The Quantitative Economics program is a joint initiative between the Economics and Mathematics departments. This curriculum caters to students aiming for a dual Master's in Applied Economics and Mathematics/Statistics, those fascinated by quantitative economic analysis, and individuals seeking to strengthen their mathematical foundation for future Economics Ph.D. studies. Beyond 22 credit hours of essential economic theory coursework, participants complete 12+ hours of advanced mathematics classes. As a STEM-certified degree, it emphasizes rigorous mathematical and statistical examination of economic systems and challenges. STEM designation provides students with advantages such as access to grant-funded projects and, for international scholars, extended Optional Practical Training opportunities.
