The English Studies program provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to the diverse fields within English Studies. Our English Department features an extensive range of courses across eight specialized areas: literature and cultural studies, children's literature, linguistics, rhetoric and composition, technical communications, creative writing, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and Publishing. English students develop expertise in analyzing, shaping, and perfecting language while critically engaging with and producing artistic works like poetry, plays, and novels. Our graduates enjoy exceptional career prospects, with alumni successfully entering graduate programs in various disciplines—from our core fields to library science, education, law, criminal justice, business entrepreneurship, and STEM careers. Many pursue opportunities teaching English internationally, contribute to global humanitarian efforts, or leverage their communication skills to drive positive change worldwide.
