The Pharmacy Technology program equips graduates for careers assisting licensed pharmacists in both retail and hospital environments. Participants will gain foundational knowledge in human anatomy, medical terms, pharmaceutical regulations, and the top 200 prescribed medications. The curriculum covers essential skills including prescription interpretation, medication preparation, inventory management, billing procedures, and patient interactions. Training combines classroom learning, online courses, hands-on lab work, and two real-world practicum experiences.
Each autumn, the program enrolls 12-14 students who must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Prerequisites include introductory healthcare studies, computer proficiency, anatomy and physiology basics, and medical mathematics. Applicants must also pass criminal background checks and drug tests before admission.
