The Global Studies Program provides a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with an interdisciplinary approach. This program enables students to examine diverse global cultures, languages, societies, and political systems while completing foundational coursework in language studies, economics, international relations, global institutions, and human rights. A minor option is available.
Students in the Global Studies Program cultivate broad knowledge of language, culture, economics, and political systems while specializing in one of three tracks: Political and Economic Development; Language, Literature, and Culture; or The United States and World Affairs (refer to the ISU Event Calendar for details on the Frank Church Symposium, specialized seminars, and international study programs). The U.S. and World Affairs concentration focuses on American foreign policy and global governance, preparing students for diplomatic careers and positions with international NGOs and intergovernmental agencies.
