The Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a Natural History Concentration caters to students aiming for careers that value natural history expertise, such as outdoor education, environmental interpretation, species identification, and field research. Compared to the B.S. in Biology, this degree requires fewer Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics courses while offering more upper-level electives, allowing students greater flexibility to tailor their academic path. Note that the B.A. in Biology typically doesn't fulfill the prerequisites for most biological science graduate programs or health science professional schools.
To earn this degree, students must complete all General Education Objectives outlined in the catalog's Academic Information section. Additionally, they must fulfill both the core requirements specified below and the Natural History Concentration requirements. All graduates of this program will receive a B.A. in Biology, irrespective of their chosen concentration.
