The Industrial Controls program is available as a second AAS degree for those who have completed either an Electrical Journeyman AAS or an Electrical Apprenticeship AAS program and fulfilled all General Education requirements. Applicants must have finished at least three years of the Electrical Apprenticeship Program toward their initial AAS degree to qualify for the Industrial Controls program. Students can choose to specialize in either Instrumentation and Process Control or Motor Control and Protective Relaying. They will learn to address technical challenges common in energy systems instrumentation engineering technology by applying critical thinking, modern technology, mathematics, and applied science principles. Additionally, they will develop skills to collaborate and communicate effectively in diverse teams across industrial and academic environments, while gaining an awareness of current professional issues and the importance of ongoing education.
