The Pharmacy Technology program equips graduates for careers assisting licensed pharmacists in both retail and hospital environments. Participants will gain foundational knowledge in human anatomy, medical terms, pharmaceutical regulations, and the applications of common prescription medications. The curriculum covers essential skills including prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, billing procedures, and patient interactions. Training combines in-person classes, digital learning, hands-on lab sessions, and two real-world practicum experiences.
Each autumn, the program enrolls 12-14 students who must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Prerequisites include introductory healthcare concepts, computer proficiency, anatomy and physiology basics, and medical mathematics. Applicants must also pass criminal history and substance abuse screenings before admission.
