The Department of Pharmacology provides graduate programs for both Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Our main goal is to equip students for careers in research and academia. The initial semesters focus on foundational coursework, offering comprehensive training in pharmacological principles and methodologies. Students simultaneously explore research approaches by rotating through faculty laboratories before choosing a thesis advisor. PhD candidacy involves demonstrating writing proficiency, completing required courses, and passing qualifying exams. We emphasize cultivating scholarly excellence and analytical thinking for research challenges. The department supports diverse research specialties and hosts regular seminars with visiting scholars to expand perspectives on contemporary scientific issues.
