The Master of Science (MS) in Sports Science offers two specialization tracks: (1) Strength and Conditioning, and (2) Exercise Physiology. The Strength and Conditioning track equips students for careers as athletic performance coaches across collegiate, professional, private, and high school environments. Participants will acquire expertise in creating tailored training regimens that boost athletic capabilities while minimizing injury potential. Core curriculum covers biomechanics, exercise physiology, performance assessment, training periodization, program development, and sports nutrition. Students also gain hands-on experience through diverse fieldwork placements. The Exercise Physiology track prepares graduates for roles as fitness specialists (serving general, athletic, and clinical populations), cardiac rehabilitation professionals, or administrators in health and wellness organizations. This concentration focuses on understanding the body's immediate and long-term physiological changes from physical activity. Key coursework includes exercise physiology, muscle physiology, lab methodologies, specialized exercise programming, and therapeutic exercise approaches.
