Prospective biology majors are advised to consult with a department advisor before officially declaring. It's recommended to inform the biology department promptly upon deciding to pursue this major. An advisor will be assigned once the major is declared.

Biology courses with grades below C- cannot be applied toward the major's credit requirements. While optional, students may choose to focus their coursework within one of the available study tracks. Course planning must be done in collaboration with the assigned biology advisor. Additionally, all majors must complete a comprehensive department-administered exam during their final year.
