The HBHS program could be ideal for students aiming for careers focused on human health and wellness. Numerous health challenges stem from multifaceted causes. Consequently, advancing health and preventing illness demands professionals who can evaluate both biological factors and the social, psychological, economic, cultural, and political influences on wellbeing. Students must build a solid foundation in human biology to grasp the physiological and biochemical components of health concerns. The curriculum additionally incorporates social science viewpoints. Equipped with these competencies and access to diverse health-related courses, graduates can examine various health topics across multiple professional avenues. The program further enriches academic studies through hands-on learning experiences like the Practicing Medicine initiative, international study programs, undergraduate research, fieldwork, and participation in the Health and Nutrition Society.
