The Advanced Certificate in School Counseling is designed for educators seeking additional qualifications to meet New York State's professional certification requirements for school counselors. This program offers specialized coursework (based on student choice) to strengthen counseling abilities in key areas including school-related challenges, addiction counseling, leadership roles, and advanced therapeutic techniques. To earn the Advanced Certificate, participants must complete at least 12 new credits beyond their master's degree, all taken at Hofstra University. Previous transfer credits cannot be applied toward this certification.
