The Human Services Counseling program offers a non-licensure degree path, with the option to transition to Mental Health Counseling by completing additional coursework. This transition must be initiated prior to starting the internship and requires faculty approval. All enrolled students are required to complete a limited background check during their first week of classes.
Purdue University Northwest's M.S.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling equips students to develop professional expertise, deliver both individual and group therapy, and provide consultation services to varied communities. Our student-operated counseling center supports the Northwest Indiana region.
Graduates meet the requirements to pursue licensure as mental health counseling associates or professional counselors. The program also offers an Addictions Certification track for those seeking licensure in addiction counseling.
