This 30-credit, five-semester program prepares educators for initial leadership roles in public schools, qualifying graduates for New York State's School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) certifications. The curriculum develops innovative, adaptable, forward-thinking educational administrators who can critically assess and enhance learning experiences for all K-12 students. Participants progress through the required courses as a cohort while undertaking hands-on classroom and fieldwork projects that build essential leadership competencies. Beyond coursework, aspiring administrators complete three semesters of customized, supervised internships across diverse settings aligned with their professional goals.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants for the advanced certificate must have at least two years of PreK-12 certified classroom teaching or pupil personnel experience and possess a master's degree.
Applicants must demonstrate strong analytic ability and leadership potential.
A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on all undergraduate course work, or its equivalent (e.g., a 3.0 in a completed graduate program). We encourage you to submit all transcripts from your undergraduate work and any graduate work for consideration.
