The Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation program includes three intensive workshops. During the intervals between workshops, students build foundational knowledge and skills through ongoing lectures and a course on Contemporary Topics in Clinical and Translational Investigation. Beyond standard training in biostatistics, epidemiology, and translational methods, we emphasize cultivating analytical reasoning, effective communication, and leadership abilities.
Our educational model blends conventional instruction with innovative teaching techniques. The curriculum is structured to cohesively integrate key learning goals across all modules while enabling students to gain hands-on proficiency with these essential concepts.
Students can choose between two specialized pathways: Clinical Investigation or Translational Investigation. Both tracks cover research ethics, developing research questions, hypothesis formation, study implementation, data analysis, and results dissemination. The program also includes a mentored research component requiring students to produce and present two publishable papers.
By graduation, you will gain the ability to:
Develop precise research questions and create verifiable hypotheses
Plan and execute rigorous clinical and translational research projects
Process, understand, and share clinical and translational research findings
Skillfully prepare grant proposals, research papers, and critically assess scientific publications
Applicants to the master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation program must have an MD, PhD, MBBCh, MBBS or equivalent degree. We will consider applications from candidates with a master’s degree on a case-by-case basis. Admissions decisions are contingent on a minimum score of 125 on the Duolingo test and satisfactory programmatic review of the writing and video samples provided by Duolingo.
