The Master of Engineering (ME) in Computer Science and Engineering is a two-year graduate program where candidates must fulfill eight course requirements identical to the SM degree. During their second year, ME students primarily focus on developing a comprehensive computational project, which concludes with submitting and defending a master's thesis. Although every thesis must incorporate substantial computational elements, students have flexibility to choose projects that apply computing techniques to address challenges in their preferred field of study. By mid-March of their first academic year, all ME candidates must secure a research advisor, submit a formal thesis proposal, and provide an endorsement letter from their advisor. The CSE faculty committee reviews these proposals, and only approved candidates may proceed to the second year of the program.
