The Literacy and Languages (L&L) Concentration equips you with fundamental understanding of how language and literacy abilities contribute to academic success and enhance student results, both locally and internationally. Through this program, you'll examine literacy through developmental, educational, and cultural lenses while gaining skills to assist learners of all ages, including those who are multilingual, come from diverse cultural backgrounds, or have special educational requirements. Alumni can pursue diverse career paths in policy, education, research, or nonprofit sectors, taking on roles such as educational researcher, literacy entrepreneur, teaching professional, curriculum specialist or mentor, school administrator, policy advisor at various government levels, or literacy assessment designer.

Three Letters of Recommendation
Applicants are required to submit three recommendations using the online application system.
The GRE test is optional for Ed.M. and Ed.L.D. applicants.
If your native language is not English, you must submit the results of the TOEFL or IELTS. You are exempt from this requirement if you have earned a bachelor's degree from an institution at which English was the sole language of instruction.
You are required to upload transcripts from each postsecondary institution that you have attended showing all undergraduate and graduate work (including non-degree classes) in the Academics section of the application.
