Throughout time, united efforts have proven crucial in advancing justice. Though numerous educators discuss equity and inclusion, their focus on directly addressing oppression and injustice differs widely. The Identity, Power, and Justice in Education (IPJE) Concentration brings together students and faculty from various programs committed to actively opposing and dismantling educational oppression through their present and future endeavors. Participants in IPJE will examine critical theories that offer tools for understanding oppression through intersectional lenses, cultivate essential skills for facilitating difficult conversations about injustice, and strengthen their ability to design educational environments that work toward eradicating systemic inequities and oppressive structures.
