Harvard Law School (HLS) and Harvard's Graduate School of Design (GSD) provide a combined degree program integrating legal studies with urban planning. This HLS/GSD collaboration enables students to gain cross-disciplinary expertise in both urban development and law, equipping them for influential roles where these disciplines intersect. Through this program, participants can earn a Juris Doctor (JD) from HLS and a Master in Urban Planning (MUP) from GSD simultaneously, completing both degrees in four years instead of the typical five years needed if pursued separately.

Regular J.D. applicants are eligible to apply if they will have a bachelor’s degree by August of the year they intend to enroll at HLS.
Applicants may apply for admission to Harvard Law School through the regular J.D. application no more than three times.
