Harvard School of Dental Medicine offers an Oral Medicine Residency program designed for dentists seeking rigorous preparation for academic or institutional careers. This comprehensive training occurs primarily at Harvard-affiliated hospitals such as Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Participants hold dual resident appointments at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. CODA-accredited, this three-year program provides a completion certificate along with stipend support matching the Partners Resident Salary Scale across all training years (PGY1-PGY3). While annual facility fees apply, no tuition is charged. The program encourages residents to explore additional clinical research training opportunities to enhance their academic career prospects. Each year, one or two candidates are accepted for the mid-June start date.
