The Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) represents a groundbreaking interdisciplinary program offering advanced public health training combined with expertise in leadership, administration, communication, and creative problem-solving. This degree targets seasoned professionals holding a master's qualification and possessing six or more years of relevant full-time experience in public health or community service. The DrPH curriculum equips graduates for influential leadership positions by providing in-depth instruction in core public health principles, theoretical frameworks, and methodologies, along with practical applications of social and organizational sciences and leadership cultivation.
This innovative program combines conventional academic coursework with hands-on learning and skill-building to drive systemic improvements. As part of their culminating Doctoral Project, students refine their leadership capabilities while executing initiatives that push forward public health or medical care advancements.
All candidates for admission to the Harvard DrPH should have, at a minimum:
English Language Scores: The Harvard Chan School requires a minimum of 600 on the paper-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, and 100 on the Internet-based 4-part test (we prefer individual section scores of 23 or better). The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will also be accepted with a score of 7.0 or greater. Application Deadline: December 01.
