The Health Policy PhD program at Harvard, granted through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, represents a joint initiative across six Harvard faculties: Arts and Sciences, Business School, Kennedy School, Law School, Medical School, and the T.H. Chan School of Public Health. This inherently multidisciplinary program allows students to focus on one of six specialized tracks: decision sciences, economics, ethics, management, policy research methods, or political analysis. With participation from about 110 faculty across Harvard's schools, students enjoy broad course selection opportunities university-wide. A defining feature is the close faculty-student interaction and dedicated faculty support for program participants. Established in 1992, the program currently has 65 active students and boasts more than 200 graduates.
Individuals who have or will have by the time of matriculation a BA, BS, or equivalent undergraduate degree (for prospective international students, a three- or four-year undergraduate degree from an institution of recognized standing) and actively seeks applicants from groups historically underrepresented in graduate schools. Applicants must receive a minimum score of 80 for the TOEFL, and it is not common for applicants to be admitted with TOEFL scores below 90. The minimum IELTS Academic score is 6.5. Some programs may require higher scores. Application Deadline: Dec 15.
