The Harvard School of Dental Medicine offers an Oral Medicine Residency program designed for dentists aiming for academic or institutional careers. This rigorous training takes place at Harvard-affiliated hospitals such as Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Participants hold dual appointments as Residents at both Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). CODA-accredited, this five-year program includes four years of tuition plus a facilities fee year, doctoral coursework, and a research thesis, leading to a completion certificate and a DMSc degree from HSDM. No stipend is provided. A single position opens annually, with the program starting mid-June.
