Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE) is a multidisciplinary initiative aimed at comprehending, forecasting, and addressing both natural and anthropogenic environmental transformations. Tackling ecological concerns like climate change, ozone layer depletion, or localized air and water contamination demands insights from various scientific fields such as atmospheric physics, oceanography, glaciology, hydrology, geophysics, ecology, and biogeochemistry. The program approaches the environment as an intricate network of chemical, physical, and biological interactions, further complicated by human societal influences. By examining fundamental Earth system processes through theoretical models, experimental studies, and observational data, we equip students with holistic thinking skills to address environmental issues, readying them to confront contemporary ecological challenges.
