This nursing degree equips students to deliver secure and effective patient care. Practical nurses find employment in various healthcare settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and community health services, working under the guidance of registered nurses or doctors. The 90-credit Practical Nursing curriculum requires students to meet foundational academic standards before advancing to core nursing coursework. Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA in all nursing and related courses. (The Nursing Associate Dean may review exceptions for prerequisite courses with grades below 2.5, excluding Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 and any course with under a 2.0 GPA.) Demonstration of academic readiness involves successfully completing all prerequisite courses with at least a 2.5 grade. Note that courses lacking an "&" symbol might not be eligible for transfer credits.
