Gender and sexuality influence every aspect of life, affecting both personal experiences in areas like healthcare and legal systems, as well as broader societal understanding through humanities and social sciences. Governors State's Bachelor of Arts in Gender & Sexuality Studies enables students to explore the power structures shaped by gender and sexuality while challenging long-standing societal inequalities. This interdisciplinary Gender and Sexuality Studies (GNSX) program integrates perspectives from Addictions Studies, Anthropology & Sociology, Art, Communication, Criminal Justice, History, English, and Psychology. Students gain theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to assess how institutions, culture, politics, social movements, and personal identity intersect. The GNSX curriculum maintains academic rigor through five clearly defined program outcomes that unify expectations across disciplines.
