Gonzaga's Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL) program prepares educators to teach second languages both domestically and internationally. This curriculum focuses on developing practical teaching techniques while emphasizing cultural awareness in language instruction for learners of all ages. The program blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on application, covering language structure, cultural connections, instructional approaches, and learning processes. You'll collaborate with professors and peers to examine innovative educational concepts. Practical experiences through fieldwork and projects equip you with skills in lesson planning, instruction, evaluation, research, and leadership within educational settings. The program fosters academic inquiry and thoughtful analysis of language education methodologies. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university. Students from other countries must have the equivalent of an American Bachelor’s degree. Undergraduate minimum GPA 3.00 or higher. 
International students must also provide: An official TOEFL score of 88 iBT (580 written) OR an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher or a recommendation from Gonzaga University’s English Language Center if English is not the student’s native language.
