This figure, combined with expanding trade relations across Latin America, highlights the growing significance of Spanish proficiency in American society. Our Department provides both a Bachelor of Arts major and minor in Spanish, equipping students to address the rising need for bilingual professionals. Beyond language and conversational studies, our curriculum delves into Spanish-American literary works, Hispanic cinema, linguistic studies, and current Hispanic affairs. A Spanish degree opens doors to careers and service opportunities in various sectors including commerce, teaching, public service, the Peace Corps, Fulbright initiatives, and global aid organizations.
