The Esthetics Program is a one-semester course requiring at least 600 training hours to equip students for careers in skincare. Participants will study facial anatomy, product chemistry, skin evaluation techniques, application of therapeutic masks and packs, electrical treatments, cosmetic correction, and proper product usage. Graduates qualify to take the California State Board exam for Esthetician licensure. Program participants must maintain a C average (2.0 GPA) across all courses to progress. Beyond the 600 core hours, general education coursework is required for the Associate in Arts degree. This daytime-only program operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with mandatory attendance. Strong English language skills are essential for both academic success and safety; students lacking proficiency may be withdrawn until skills improve. The Cosmetology Department enforces specific conduct, grooming, and attendance policies for all enrollees. Prospective students must be at least 17 years old and possess a valid SSN or ITIN to apply for the state board exam, as required by law.
Material Expenses
The Cosmetology Office details uniform specifications, footwear requirements, and material fees that include the esthetician toolkit. All kit purchases must be made with cash, money orders, or cashier's checks - credit cards and personal checks are not accepted.
