The Surgical Technology program trains students to become essential members of surgical teams, typically composed of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and circulating nurses. Under the guidance of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical staff, Surgical Technologists support operations by performing vital hands-on duties such as: Setting up operating rooms with surgical instruments and equipment, Preparing patients for surgery through washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision areas, Handing instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures, Ensuring a sterile environment is maintained during surgery, and Observing and evaluating conditions in the operating room.
