Students will use 2D and 3D CAD software for design projects, 3D-printed prototypes, and developing a professional portfolio. Employment opportunities exist across various industrial sectors. General education courses are necessary to earn an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree and for transfer to four-year institutions.
Upon completing this program, students will be able to:
Use 2D CAD software and drafting principles to produce industry-standard manufacturing blueprints.
Recognize dimensioning standards and implement Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Create solid models, assemblies, and detailed drawings with feature-based parametric CAD software.
Evaluate cost-effective applications of 3D printing technology.
Utilize mathematics, measurement conventions, scaling, and mass property analysis.
Career paths available after program completion include:
Mechanical drafting
Civil drafting
Electrical drafting
Industrial drafting
Architectural drafting
3D printing
