The program has two primary objectives: (1) to equip students with a solid grounding in computer science principles and applications, fostering their growth as skilled, ethical professionals and continuous learners capable of designing and deploying cutting-edge computing solutions for societal benefit, and (2) to cultivate independent minds capable of leading in tech industries or academia, possessing profound understanding of computer science fundamentals, a comprehensive view of both traditional and emerging computing fields, and specialized knowledge in their selected areas. Hofstra's accelerated computer science program enables exceptional CSC undergraduates to complete both bachelor's and master's degrees in about five years. Within the 30 required graduate credits, 12 credits taken during senior year count toward both the BA and MS degrees.
