These degree and certificate pathways are tailored to foster the professional growth of students pursuing careers in infant and toddler education. Each certification aligns with the California Child Development Permit, administered by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. This permit allows educators to advance through a career pathway that reflects increasing professional expertise and leadership opportunities. The program curriculum is intended for students seeking teaching roles in infant/toddler educational environments. It includes 27 units of Child Development coursework along with at least 16 units of General Education, meeting the requirements for the California Child Development Permit. Program Learning Outcomes: Graduates will gain knowledge about young children and the diverse factors influencing their growth, enabling them to create nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environments. They will recognize the significance of family and community dynamics, building collaborative relationships that empower families and engage them in their children's education. Students will learn to articulate the purpose and applications of observation and assessment, mastering techniques to enhance teaching while partnering with families and colleagues. They will design and implement culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for all young children. Additionally, graduates will embrace their role as early childhood professionals, adhering to ethical guidelines and industry standards in their practice.
