The Biological Sciences AS degree offers a solid academic base for students planning to transfer to four-year institutions to pursue a Biology BS or similar programs. This program also equips graduates with skills for careers in medical, clinical, agricultural, and biotech labs, as well as museum and education outreach positions. Students have the option to substitute IGETC for STEM majors instead of local GE requirements, while completing all core courses totaling 39 units. Program Outcomes: Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in using fundamental biology lab equipment, analyze biological data and effectively communicate results, and formulate and evaluate hypotheses about evolutionary connections between organisms.
High School transcripts and Diploma; minimum of 2.0 or ""C"" grade point average, if transferring directly from a U.S.-based College or University.
Students under 18 years of age may apply, but must submit final transcripts showing secondary/high school completion before the first term of enrollment.
Proof of English Proficiency
Application Deadline: July 10 for Fall Semester; November 30 for Spring Semester and May 15 for the Summer Session.
