This program prepares students for careers as medical assistants in physician offices or clinics. The coursework provides training in administrative tasks to support patient care, including greeting patients, managing appointments, processing documents, handling insurance verification and coding, maintaining supplies and equipment, and organizing medical records. Administrative medical assistants must multitask efficiently in fast-paced healthcare settings while communicating clearly with patients about office policies and HIPAA compliance. The curriculum requires 29 core units. Program Outcomes: Graduates will be proficient in appointment scheduling, medical office operations, financial procedures including insurance billing, electronic health record management, and completing insurance claims. An internship in a physician's clinic offers hands-on administrative experience for workforce readiness.
