Georgia State's Interior Design curriculum provides thorough exposure to diverse viewpoints through multiple media approaches, conceptual development methods, content exploration, visual expression techniques, and the varied teaching styles of our faculty. This highly personalized program is best suited for applicants who hold an undergraduate degree in interior design or a related discipline, preferably complemented by professional experience that informs their graduate studies.
The program fosters innovative explorations in interior design practice and research while maintaining foundational design skills. Although most studio credits are earned in the combined interior/graphic design seminar, students are strongly supported in exploring other studio areas within the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design that relate to modern interior practice - such as 3D arts (sculpture, ceramics, textiles), drawing, painting, printmaking, and photography, among others.
