Our independent M.A. program prepares social researchers who may not intend to enter academia. Participants gain expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, equipping them for careers in various industries or nonprofit organizations.
Faculty members and the Department have collaborated on research initiatives with numerous organizations, such as the National Science Foundation, U.S. Public Health Service, National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, American Educational Research Association, U.S. Attorney's Office, U.S. Census Bureau, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Georgia Department of Human Resources, Georgia Narcotics Treatment Center, Georgia Mental Health Institute, Atlanta Regional Commission, City of Atlanta Planning Bureau, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Pew Charitable Trust, and many other governmental and private entities.
